About Us
About Yù
Where Heritage Meets the Heart
Yù began quietly — a small idea I carried close to my heart, shaped by memory, family, and the soft beauty of Chinese craft.
In Chinese, 玉 (Yù) means jade.
For my family, it means even more:
it is the middle name shared by all four sisters —
Yù Ling, Yù Pei, Yù Chien - and me, Yù Wen.

Four daughters.
A bond that threads us together.
Yù was created to honour that bond, and the women who shaped our lives.
Four Thousand Gold
Our website, thousandgold.co, holds another piece of our story.
In Chinese culture, “thousand gold” (千金) is a poetic way of calling a daughter precious.
My mother has four daughters.
So she is lovingly known as “four thousand gold” — 四千金.

Yù is my tribute to her strength, her softness, and the legacy she built without ever asking for recognition.
Every collection carries a piece of that love.
What We Stand For
Family at the Heart
Yù is rooted in family.
Each collection is named after a sister, and every piece reflects a memory, a bond, or a story.
We create to honour the relationships that quietly shape who we become.
A Modern Malaysian Chinoiserie
We carry our Chinese heritage into our Malaysian life.
Our designs draw from Chinoiserie elegance — symbolism, jade, soft curves, and elements of tradition reimagined with a modern touch.
This is cultural heritage expressed gently, in pieces made to be worn every day.
Crafted with Intention
We value quality — in the materials we choose, the artisans we work with, and the meaning behind each design.
Our pieces are made to last, not only in craftsmanship, but in sentiment.
Quiet luxury begins with intention.
Meaning in Limited Quantities
We create slowly and in small batches.
Not for exclusivity — but to protect the care, attention, and sincerity behind each piece.
When something is made with patience, it carries a different kind of presence.
A Quiet Celebration of Chinese Heritage
Yù is more than jewellery.
It is a story of sisters.
A tribute to a mother.
A soft expression of culture, memory, and the women who hold families together.
We hope our pieces become part of your story —
worn softly, held closely, and treasured for the meaning they carry.
